BS S98 Steel Bar
Superior tensile & yield strength.
BS S98 aerospace steel bars offer high tensile strength and toughness.
BS S98 steel bars offer high strength and toughness and are typically suitable in applications requiring superior tensile and yield strength. This case-hardened steel contains nickel, chromium, and molybdenum as key alloying elements and offers 730HV after carburising, quenching, sub-zero treatment and tempering processes. Produced to British Standards, steel bars and forgings should be ultrasonically examined if possible.
Creep Resistance
BS S98 offers good creep resistance, toughness, and performance at elevated temperatures. Although known as aerospace-grade steel, the alloy also finds use in various commercial engineering applications, including oil & gas and motorsport. The material produces hydraulic shafts, connecting rods, sockets and spindles.
