Oxidation Resistance
Ideal for Offshore Applications
We stock an extensive range of copper-nickel alloys, which we supply globally to engineering and fabrication businesses.
Copper-nickel (or cupronickel) is stronger and significantly more oxidation-resistant at high temperatures than typical copper alloys.
Suitability
Copper-nickel alloys are typically used in marine operating environments due to the alloy's excellent resistance to saltwater corrosion. Cupronickels also effectively resist biological fouling, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), crevice corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement. Our alloys also retain mechanical properties at low temperatures.
Stock Range
Our impressive range of copper-nickel grades covers various specifications, and our products usually only differ in strength and corrosion resistance. We stock products under ASTM, DEF STAN and Euro Norm specifications.
View RangeCondenser Tubes
Copper-nickel alloys are used to manufacture condenser tubes used for power plants.
Copper-nickel is used in steam power plants, cooling systems, and nuclear plant pre-heaters, as well as in desalinisation plants and saltwater system components.
The power generation sector is significant in the utilisation of copper-nickel alloys.
Stock Portfolio
The combination of high corrosion resistance and strength makes our copper-nickel alloys highly suitable for marine applications.
We stock products to globally recognised specifications including ASTM, DEF STAN and Euro Norm.
